Earn-a-Bike Programs

Revolve, Inc. offers two ways to earn your bicycle!

Complete either of these programs and pay a $10 participant fee to help cover Revolve’s costs to refurbish the bicycles and you can earn a good, quality, used bicycle to commute to work or to class. The bikes typically available in the Earn-a-Bike Program are refurbished bikes from non name brand manufacturers such as Huffy, Roadmaster, Murray, Next, Free Spirit, Magna, etc.

Bike Safety Class (Traffic Skills 101)

Anyone aged 14 years and older can take a free online bike safety course from the League of American Bicyclists. After successfully completing the online course, participants make arrangements with Revolve staff for the on-bike portion of the course. Youth from a household that are younger than 14 “get” a bike when their parents/older siblings “earn” theirs. Youth older than 10 can join their family for the road test at the discretion of their parents.

Simply complete the free online bike safety course at www.bikeed.org. Pass the test with a score of a-least 70%, then call Elizabeth at  816.835.3310 to schedule a 40 minute on-bike skills test.

Please Note: It is very hard to accommodate individuals  taller than 6ft in the Earn-a-Bike Program. We’ll put you on the tallest bike we have at the time you complete that program, but for the best experience, you’ll want to start saving some money for an upgrade.

Volunteer at The Bike Shop

Anyone who volunteers 10 hours during hours of operation at either of our locations, or at bike collection events is eligible to earn a bike.  Simply email info@revolvekc.org or call the shop at 816-835-3310 to schedule your volunteer hours. Check the Events page for more volunteer opportunities.
