2013 Annual Report

Ready Set Go!

2013 marked the second year of the RevolveKC Community Bike Shop and the first full year of the RevolveKCK Community Bike Shop. We expanded from our first location of 5100 Troost Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri to a second location of 554 Central Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas. RevolveKCK is the ONLY dedicated bike shop for- or non-profit in all of Kansas City, Kansas and Wyandotte County.

Many local residents and several public servants celebrated our Grand Opening including outgoing Mayor, Jim Reardon, and newly-elected Mayor, Mark Holland. Our mission to reclaim bicycles and to re-circulate them into the community was supported by several student groups: Rockhurst University and UMKC at RevolveKC and Donnelly College at RevolveKCK. Revolve is indebted to dedicated volunteers that help us manage our inventory. We are all working toward keeping unwanted bikes out of area landfill.

Revolve’s Board of Directors, its Supporters, and key public officials met early in the year to chart and set the course for the organization in its first Five-Year Strategic Planning Process. The Process was professionally facilitated with consultation by one of our national partners, the Alliance for Biking & Walking. The working documents generated during this Process will be made available soon. Photos of Planning Session

Ready Set Survey!

A recent survey demonstrated how effective our programming was throughout the year and the lasting impact it had on participants. Earn-a-Bike Participants report that they are healthier, community and family oriented, earth-friendly, frugal, and more mobile as a result of the Program. We believe these results and our presence at two Greater Kansas City Area locations are making a difference for which we can all be proud!
